Compared to the Polk Audio MC80 series, the RC series comes in at half the cost, but doesn't compromise the quality or performance. It comes with an 8-inch driver and 1-inch aimable tweeter, made up of high quality composite. The driver does well to offer a beefy bass response. With a few EQ changes the bass can be dialled in quite well. The speakers do perform well at high volume, although, I did notice a bit of distortion at the top end of the dial. When testing the sound in the room, it was extremely warm and handled dynamics well. Definitely a well rounded speaker for the price point that it sits at. From my experience installing in-ceiling speakers, the RC80i’s are best suited for whole home audio solutions or as rear speakers for surround sound. Overall, a quality high performing in-ceiling speaker that I would recommend.
